The Australian Songwriting Contest is highly respected and extremely prestigious, offering more than $36,000 in prizes. APRA/AMCOS is the Major Sponsor, providing $3,000 to the Songwriter of the Year!
The National Awards Night in Sydney is always a "glittering music industy event"[The Drum Media]. Last year, SIMON SHAPIRO was named APRA's ASA Songwriter of the Year, and BRENDA-LEE HEATHCOTE recieved the Rudy Brandsma Award.

The Australian Songwriters Association has a lot to offer people who create original music in Australia, from the grass roots amateur to experienced and published songwriters.
The ASA's annual Australian Songwriting Contest is the largest competition in the country, providing great prizes and industry exposure to all finalists.
