Don’t Miss The 2015 National Songwriting Awards – almost sold out!!

The Top 10 Finalists will be announced at the National Songwriting Awards, which will be held in Sydney on Friday 4 December. As many already know, the Awards night gives songwriters a fantastic insight into what the industry is looking forward (as all the Category winning songs are played), and the chance to network with relevant industry people, including Publishers, Record Labels etc. The event is also enormous fun, with lots of celebrities in attendance, and Glenn A Baker inducting a songwriting legend into the Australian Songwriters Hall of Fame – this year, Johnny Young – and lots of other activities!

Earlybird Tickets to that event are available from now until 14 November, by emailing the ASA National Office on with the full names of whoever is coming, and any special dietary requirements (a 3 Course Meal and unlimited beer, wine, champagne and soft drinks, are included in the Ticket price). If you are paying by credit card you can email or phone through details to Marc on 02 9519 3978, or if paying by cheque/money order, please make it out to the ASA, and send it to 2/2 Rawson St, Newtown 2042. The price is $130 or $110 for members.

Described in the music press as a “glittering music industry night”, we warmly recommend attending the National Songwriting Awards to all songwriters and music lovers, so do get along if you can. The venue is in the sumptuous entertainment auditorium at Wests Ashfield Leagues Club (115 Liverpool Rd, Ashfield NSW), quite close to all of Sydney’s attractions and the airport. Start Time: 6.30pm for 7pm sharp and Dress Code: Snappy

Thank you ASA for my second Top 30 result in the Instrumental Category. It’s an honour to be in the list, which is never easy to reach as it is always extremely highly sought after. Definitely one of the fairest and most prestigious talent competitions in Australia. Good luck to all the other entrants in the competition 2015. Regards, Michael Angliss

I am feeling very honoured to be in Top 30 Instrumental category. This is the first time I have entered any song contest, having 3 out of 4 songs shortlisted in Open, Country and Instrumental categories brought me to tears (of joy). Thank you ASA and may the musical force be with you all… Cynthia
